Community Agreements For Online Classes

Below are some class chords that my high school students have made together. Creating a container means that the type of classroom environment is created, which evaluates and supports all members. This can mean a number of things, from simple reflection to how we organize physical space in a space, through facilitating discussion, to more complex actions such as an incarnate teacher and creating community agreements. When I read your answer to my answer, I wonder if I misrepresented what I meant. I`m a girl scout, and in scouting, they say, “Leader Guides, Girl Decides.” This is not new to me. When I taught kindergarten students and children, my classes were always driven by demands. Jumping in elementary school wasn`t really a big jump for me. It can be like a jump in the feel of the pool, because you never know what you`re going to get. But I am concerned about the speech I hear during the faculty sessions and around the water cooler.

I lock myself up because I am part of this ability and I must always be vigilant not to fall into these traps… and I`m regularly Inquire Within and Just Wondering. They are great resources. I think class agreements are acceptable to the self-motivated learner, but they are a challenge for those who are not. You can also use group chords for group work. Allow each time group to develop its own cooperation agreements. This can help relieve the stress of ambiguous expectations of group work, help students engage for themselves and resolve conflicts together. Switching to online work requires teachers to think a little differently about how they can build the culture they want with their students.

3. Creating Community Agreements: The creation of community agreements supports a container by giving everyone the opportunity to share what they need to feel safe in the classroom. Community agreements differ from the rules because students are involved in their creation and students agree, rather than telling students what not to do. This supports buy-in, lets students know what each of them can do to support the class, and helps students feel seen and heard. If you`ve already started your online course – like most teachers right now – you identify the current culture you have in the digital space, which is to take stock of what`s going on and not. Ask yourself questions like: responsibility can be the hardest and most important aspect of a virtual classroom. Students have to juggle a lot when they work from home, and they can help them develop basic time management and adaptation skills. Community agreements play a role in that students often enter into one or two agreements on current events and the full present.

The advantage of essential agreements is to create a culture of community learning, determined by the learners of this community. If everything seems to work, keep doing what you`re doing. But if you find that your online classroom isn`t learning-oriented, you`re planning the resulting culture. I`m new to the application and the PYP. I am only 4 years old. But I see too many teachers (maybe even myself!) who give words in the air to the idea of the agreement, the idea that students are actively involved in the construction of such agreements.
