Grid Connection Agreement Definition

If the customer`s connection requires the construction of a new substation on the main network, the customer pays the connection fee in the manner described in the project contract. A new connection is usually obtained through a contract to build a connection to the grid (a construction contract) and a separate contract is entered into to regulate the connection and flow of electricity after the completion of the work. As far as project financing is concerned, these agreements are generally a precondition for the existence of funding agreements, as they are necessary for the viability of the project. There may be a number of triggers for a connection agreement that are normally applied when the connection: the framework agreement is cross-cutting. However, we need to set up a specific timetable for each scheme or project. The advantage of this approach is that it requires much less red tape for each system than the previous tripartite agreement. The connection to the main grid continues in phases. Connections are planned at an early stage in collaboration with the customer. Based on customer connection information, we check the connection possibilities and agree on the connection solution. During the connection planning phase, the client develops more detailed connection plans according to the general connection conditions (YLE) and reviews them with Fingrid, after which construction can begin. The client agreed to launch its timely relationship with Fingrid`s operational organization. Once the plans are approved, construction can begin. The client provides Fingrid with the project implementation schedule, final documents and electrical values.

An agreement on power outages on the main network during the construction of the connection must be reached as soon as possible. Connection needs should be reported as soon as possible and no later than 21 days before the proposed connection date. The main network specialists, who are responsible for planning outages and connections, inform the customer of the connection date. In Finland, geographical transmission routes mean that the main transmission lines of the network are long and the switching systems are very far apart. Therefore, connections to the 110 kV transmission line are also permitted, given the available transmission power of the transmission line and other technical conditions. A transmission line connection means connecting a transmission line or substation to a 110 kV main transmission line. At the end of the negotiations, you validate the revised offer documentation and the preliminary connectivity planning is consistent with the discussion and make a recommendation for customer acceptance.
